Clinical Leadership Council

The Clinical Leadership Council (CLC) is comprised of leaders from each AMR region as well as clinical data analysts, educators, AMR's Vice President of Clinical Affairs and the EMSC Senior Vice President of Professional Services.

Using AMR’s national clinical data in conjunction with contemporary medical literature, the CLC identifies and implements clinical excellence strategies, programs and standards for AMR. Projects that the CLC has undertaken include:

  • Critically analyzed airway literature and established guidelines for the use of waveform capnography (monitoring the concentration or partial pressure of carbon dioxide in respiratory gases).
  • Identified the need for improved tools for vascular access in critically ill patients and, in collaboration with AMR’s National Equipment Evaluation Team, reviewed and recommended an adult intraosseous device.
  • Developed clinical recommendations for the use of CPAP in pre-hospital management of congestive heart failure.
  • Created a documentation guide and online training program that educates AMR caregivers about the company’s documentation standards.
  • Established national patient safety guidelines for patient restraint and bariatric care and transport.
