AMR uses a multi-phase approach to identify applicants most likely to succeed as caregivers. Each phase contributes specific information about applicants and allows AMR to select the most qualified candidates for the job. This screening process helps the AMR regional offices hire individuals who have the required skills, abilities and characteristics of successful EMS professionals.

The first phase of the selection process consists of:

  • Employment Application
  • Realistic Job Preview
  • Written Assessment
  • Practical Skills Evaluation
  • Structured Interview

Candidates who successfully pass the first phase of the process move on to phase two, which consists of:

  • Reference and Background Checks
  • Drug Screen
  • Physical Agility Test
