AMR is committed to providing the tools and learning experiences our team members need to be successful. AMR believes in growing talent within the organization. This is done by creating opportunities for persons of varying backgrounds to grow through programs designed to enhance their careers.

Recruitment:

Our recruitment efforts include partnerships with numerous diversity organizations, colleges, and community organizations. We work closely with the Department of Labor Job Corps. AMR has partnered with the Job Corps which is a no-cost education and vocational training program that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through vocational and academic training. Through this partnership, AMR has worked with the Job Corps to establish two training programs for those students desiring to become Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Response Technicians. AMR is proud of this partnership which allows for success stories such as Job Corp graduate Guiseppe Cage.

Only a few weeks removed from his Edison, New Jersey, Job Corps graduation, Guiseppe Cage was thrust into the front lines of the Gulf coast oil spill cleanup effort. Armed with certificates in nursing, emergency training and first responder skills, Cage, who is 23, was hired by American Medical Response. Cage is now stationed in Alabama as an EMT medical assistant. He provides help to cleanup workers who are battling toxic fumes and high heat.

Passport to Success:

Our continued success at AMR comes from the dedicated efforts of our thousands of professional team members. Our people set us apart from the competition. AMR’s ability to provide superior patient care, great customer service and company growth depends on the continued professional development of our world-class workforce. With this in mind, we designed our national career development program, Passport to Success. Passport to Success assists team members with their career development within AMR. Mentors, who are individuals already accomplished in their career path, are assigned to act as coaches to team members to help guide and aid them in their efforts. This program provides team members with the opportunity to make traditional and non-traditional career moves within the company.
