AMR New Haven provides emergency and non-emergency medical transport service for eight communities in the greater New Haven County, Connecticut, area. It was founded in 1992. AMR New Haven employs approximately 425 paramedics and EMTs and handles an average of 100,000 calls annually.
AMR New Haven has one of a handful of ACE accredited communications centers in the country. The communication center processes more than one million phone requests, 200,000 ambulance transports and more than 100,000 wheelchair transports annually. The operation is also one of the research sites for the National Institutes of Health’s Immediate Metabolic Myocardial Enhancement study.
