Josephine County Renews Contract for Ambulance Service with AMR

GRANTS PASS, ORE., November 11, 2003 – American Medical Response (AMR) received approval for a five-year contract renewal in Josephine County, Ore. This contract will extend AMR’s advanced life support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) medical transportation services in the county through June 30, 2009.

AMR provides 9-1-1 ALS emergency ambulance service to the residents of Josephine County. Additionally, AMR provides non-emergency BLS transportation, as well as wheelchair transportation services. AMR also provides Mobile Health Care to various businesses in the community. AMR also has a Reach and Treat (RAT) team that performs water and high-angle rescues throughout Josephine County.

AMR is an integral part of the community in Josephine County. AMR employees sit on the Kiwanis Board, the Chamber of Commerce Board, the Search and Rescue Board, two Rotary Clubs and serve as the chair of the Pathways to Care Network. Through these organizations AMR shows commitment to the community by providing medical standby services at events such as Boatnik each year. Through its public education program, AMR is the American Heart Association training center. AMR also does DUII crash simulations at local schools and Grim Reaper assemblies for area high schools. AMR also provides Child Safety Seat Inspection Clinics throughout the year to ensure the children in the community remain safe passengers in vehicles. Each year, AMR provides an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) as well as training and maintenance to local emergency responders.

In the state of Oregon, AMR provides emergent and non-emergency ambulance service in Multnomah, Clackamas, Josephine and Washington Counties.
