Paso County, CO

January 6, 2004 – American Medical Response (AMR)
announces today that it has purchased 13 new ambulances to
serve El Paso County. The new fleet is currently being outfitted
with supplies and will be deployed throughout the month of

The new fleet will be designated for the 9-1-1
system of El Paso County. Each ambulance will be equipped

a 12-lead cardiac monitor and advanced airway management equipment.

a Road Safety Computer that lets the driver of the ambulance
know if he or she is driving outside safe parameters.
Each vehicle cost $55,000; supplies and computers
cost an additional $54,000. The ambulances will replace a
portion of the current fleet, some of which will be donated
to non-profit organizations or county fire departments. AMR
