Hurricane Katrina Fast Facts

AMR operates 911 EMS service in Gulfport MS and provided ambulance service in several Mississippi communities.

We began mobilizing resources and planning to meet the needs of hurricane victims even before the storm hit the coast.

We have provided an additional 100 plus ambulances and nearly 300 paramedics, EMTs and other professionals to aid with the rescue, transportation and medical care to hurricane victims.

AMR is working closely with federal, state and local officials to deploy additional unit and crews where they are most needed.

We continue to aid in rescue operations and in providing medical care and transport to hurricane victims in the coastal areas of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.

We have also provided additional resources in Texas to aid in transport of evacuees to medical facilities in Houston, San Antonio and Arlington.  We expect this mission to escalate as additional evacuees arrive and patients are transported from existing disaster centers.

While we have deployed multiple resources to the Gulf Coast to assist with Hurricane Katrina, AMR is still operating as normal and servicing our regular customers at full capacity.
