Greenwood Village, Colo. - American Medical Response (AMR) is projecting that three new contract starts will add approximately 205,000 transports a year to its yearly total.
Additional New Contracts in DeKalb County, Ga. and Several Counties in Tennessee.
On Nov. 1, AMR will begin providing 911 emergency medical transportation services to residents of Tulsa, Oklahoma City and surrounding cities under a new contract with Oklahoma's Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA). The five-year contract, with $247 million in total estimated revenue over the 5 year period, is projected to generate approximately 145,000 transports a year.
Under the terms of the contract, AMR will be the contractor responsible for delivering operational services and staff for EMSA, the sole 911 ambulance provider in the regulated service area whose community has more than 1.1 million residents. AMR was awarded the contract following a nationwide bid process.
EMSA is the oldest operating EMS public utility in the country and under the direction of nationally-recognized EMS pioneer Stephen Williamson, has developed some of the most clinically advanced emergency medical protocols and systems in use today.
Two Additional New Contracts in Georgia and Tennessee
Recently AMR began providing 911 emergency medical transportation services under multi-year contracts to both DeKalb County, Georgia and Shelby County, Tennessee.
The two contracts, with annual estimated revenue of $23 million, will provide services to approximately 350,000 residents and are projected to generate approximately 60,000 emergency medical transports a year. AMR also provides non-emergency medical transportation services in both areas.
"We are very proud to have won these contracts and to be the emergency medical services provider of choice in these communities," said AMR President Edward Van Horne. "AMR is the country's leading 911 emergency medical services company because of the exceptional customer and clinical services we provide to our community partners. We have also designed innovative new systems with our fire agency and healthcare partners that have redefined traditional ambulance services. This combination allows us to help our country meet the challenges of our evolving healthcare system."
