(Dallas, Texas) — American Medical Response (AMR) is bringing up to 75 new jobs in specialty vehicle manufacturing to Mineral Wells, TX. The company will be hiring for numerous positions, including automotive electricians, welders, fabricators and drivers, at a job fair on October 17 from 11:00 am-7:00pm. The job fair will be held at the Holiday Hills Country Club, located at 4801 Hwy 180E.
AMR’s NextFleet initiative will extend the life of modular body ambulances by deeply refurbishing them and replacing the underlying truck chassis with a brand new one. The Mineral Wells hub will handle all remounting, refurbishing and upfitting of its own vehicles. Individuals with RV, marine or emergency vehicle experience are prime candidates for the Mineral Wells location.
“Remounting of ambulances has proven to be a valuable part of our annual vehicle refresh, and bringing much of this work in-house will deliver economies, consistent quality and steady supply,” said James Philips, Vice President of AMR Fleet Resources. Philips also shared that the proposed facility staff will provide an array of automotive reconditioning services, vehicle branding and graphics, and mobile communications equipment installations.
AMR, the country’s largest medical transport and EMS provider, hopes to occupy the former Baker-Hughes site on Tradeway Drive. Final negotiations for the property are in progress, but AMR management hopes to begin drawing strong talent to support their specific staffing goals. “We are excited to meet future members of our team from Mineral Wells and the surrounding areas,” said Ken Thom, AMR National Fleet Director overseeing the NextFleet project. “In addition to direct hires, we will be sourcing material and services from local companies.”
AMR has emergency services operations across Texas, including the cities of Abilene, Arlington and Dallas. To view job openings in the Mineral Wells area, visit amr.net/careers.
