American Medical Response Responds to Las Vegas Shooting

Statement from American Medical Response as of 2:30 a.m. Local Time

American Medical Response (AMR) and our subsidiary operation MedicWest Ambulance (MWA) are responding to the shooting situation in Las Vegas this morning. Thirty-two AMR and MWA units responded to the scene, supported with additional incident command managers and supervisors. We have completed approximately 65 transports so far, taking wounded to local hospitals; that number is changing rapidly and is as of 2:30 a.m. local time.

Off-duty employees were at the location of the shooting and we are accounting for others and the safety of the on-duty responders. Off-duty personnel for both operations have been called in for additional support and staffing of reserve ambulances. We are also sending 15 additional ambulances from neighboring AMR California and Arizona operations to provide additional support for the Las Vegas teams. Our AMR Las Vegas-based team comprises 659 employees, and we have 120 ambulance units.

We continue to respond to regular 911 calls in the city.

We will continue to provide information as applicable. For additional information from AMR, contact Donna Itzoe at donna.itzoe@amr.net or 214.458.8460. For information about the situation, contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
