11.10.2018

FEMA has placed AMR on alert and the Federal Liaison is monitoring FEMA’s status.

(Ventura County, CA) - Widespread evacuations continue to take place across Butte and Ventura counties in California as the wildfires continue to spread. American Medical Response (AMR) mobilized resources to assist with evacuations.

AMR currently has 20 Office of Emergency Management ambulances on the West Coast ready to be deployed. The medical operations are split into two distinct geographic locations: Chico and Durham, CA. The two locations are separated by less than 10 miles of freeway; however, this roadway was used as part of the fire line for yesterday’s suppression efforts.

“Our crews are working diligently to assist in the evacuation efforts and we are ready to mobilize more resources as needed,” said AMR West Region CEO Tom Wagner. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those families who have been displaced by these devastating fires, many of our own team members live in these areas.”

“We have checked with our teams and all EMS personnel are safe and accounted for and no significant injuries to EMS personnel have been reported,” Wagner added.

AMR will continue to work with local, state and federal officials and will provide information as applicable.
