American Medical Response (AMR) Media Response to Vehicle Crash

Statement from American Medical Response as of 9:00 a.m. Local Time
Media Briefing Planned for 12 p.m. Local Time

Contact: Damon Schilling

AMR is mourning the loss of a team member and a patient after an overnight vehicle crash. We are not able to share the names at this time as their families have not been notified. We are respectfully asking members of the media and the community to delay sharing details about the patient or the crew member until notifications are made.
“This is a sad day for our teams and our community,” said AMR Las Vegas Regional Director Scott White. “Our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of our team member and the patient as they deal with their loss. We are grateful one of our other team members survived and is out of the hospital.”
Regional Director White will host a media briefing at the AMR operation today.
When: 12 p.m.
Where: AMR Operations, 7201 W Post Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89113
Here are the details:
  • The crew picked up the patient at around 11:30 p.m. and was transporting the patient to a facility for care.
  • Shortly after the transport began, a crew member contacted AMR dispatch to notify them about the crash.
  • AMR supervisors and management also responded to the scene to provide assistance.
  • The injured AMR crew member was transported to a local hospital and released.
  • The AMR employee that died in the crash was given a line of duty escort to the coroner’s office and was met with officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, NHP and members of AMR management.
We do not have any specifics about the cause of the crash. Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) is conducting the investigation and we do not have a timeline on when that will be completed. We will respect their process and defer questions to them.
