Operations Supervisor Ryan Crohn participated in special race-day events including making the ceremonial announcement directing drivers to their cars to starty the race.

Global Medical Response (GMR), the world’s leading provider of medical transportation, is celebrating EMS Week by highlighting the work of a very special Las Vegas Paramedic. In honor of the week-long celebration, GMR, along with NTT INDYCAR and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, invited American Medical Response (AMR) Operations Supervisor Ryan Crohn to participate in special race day events during the GMR Grand Prix this past weekend.

Crohn was invited to make the ceremonial announcement directing drivers to their cars at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, signaling the beginning of the GMR Grand Prix race. In addition to directing 25 of the world’s greatest INDYCAR racers to their cars over the loudspeaker at the world-famous raceway, Crohn also received an exclusive pre-race ride around the 2.5-mile track and was invited to have his picture taken with GMR Grand Prix race winner, Rinus VeeKay in the winner’s circle.

“This was truly a great experience,” said Crohn. “Being able to meet with other EMS providers from around the country and GMR leaders and swap stories was an amazing way to connect.”

Crohn was invited to participate in the special race events as a thank you for his leadership, dedication and commitment to serving the community of Las Vegas during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ryan took the lead on COVID-19 screening operations for hotels and businesses in the Las Vegas area,” said Donna Miller, Regional Director for Global Medical Response, AMR’s parent company. “As the situation began to evolve with the virus, so did Ryan’s focus. He and his team quickly pivoted from screening to testing and eventually to vaccine distribution. Ryan and his team are responsible for over 20,000 vaccines being distributed in the greater Las Vegas valley. Ryan’s ability to adapt, his willingness to lead and desire to serve is truly inspiring.”
