Operation's Entire Fleet of Stretchers Now Feature Hydraulic Lift
Lifeguard EMS of East Kentucky recently purchased 10 new Stryker ambulance stretchers. The entire fleet of stretchers now features a hydraulic-assist lift system. Bill Baker, director of operations for Lifeguard EMS of East Kentucky, said each new ambulance stretcher can hold 600 pounds of patient weight.
“Our stretchers – all of them – are great for employees, because there is less risk of a work-related injury,” he said. “The stretchers also allow us to manage the patient more reliably.”
Every Lifeguard EMS ambulance in East Kentucky is now equipped with a hydraulic-assist stretcher, and Baker said there is a backup stretcher as well.
“I am proud of Lifeguard EMS of East Kentucky for making this $100,000 investment,” Baker said. “We provide care at a moment’s notice, and these new stretchers provide additional safeguards for our patients and employees.”
Lifeguard EMS of East Kentucky serves patients in Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Leslie, Magoffin and Pike counties.
