American Medical Response (AMR) in Fremont County is excited to announce that after a two-year COVID hiatus, Safety Jam will return in 2022. Tom Anderson, Operations Supervisor for AMR, said this year’s event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at Rudd Park (located in the 1300 block of College Ave., in Canon City).
“In past years, this event has drawn more than 500 attendees,” Anderson said. “We love that Safety Jam is a festival-like atmosphere. It kicks off at 10 a.m. with a Color Guard and the National Anthem. Safety Jam is a free event open to people of all ages. The event promotes public safety and helps improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.”
Anderson said there are already several exhibitors committed to take part in the June 4 event, and lunch will be provided to all who attend, thanks to AMR’s partnership with RE-1 nutrition services.
“Attendees go from booth to booth and participate in educational and safety activities to earn tickets, which give them the opportunity to win some great door prizes,” Anderson said. “AMR will be there with our crew and ambulance, along with a REACH Air Medical Service helicopter, and we’ll have free blood pressure screenings and other fun and educational activities.
If your organization would like to participate with an exhibition booth, or if you’d like to donate money for door prizes, please contact Tom Anderson at 719.371.8019 or email Tom.Anderson@gmr.net
