AMR in the Central Mississippi Community

AMR Central Mississippi provides emergency and non-emergency medical transport service for Hinds County, Mississippi. Founded in 1991, AMR Central Mississippi employs approximately 216 paramedics and EMTs and handles on average 41,000 transports annually.

The operation interacts routinely with local hospitals and serves on various committees with the trauma region and state EMS Office to improve the quality of care across the state. Over the years, AMR has grown alongside Central Mississippi to offer more EMS enhancements than any other provider. We remain locally focused while drawing on the national strength of our organization. Our ability to provide more and better services increased exponentially when we became part of the Global Medical Response (GMR) family of companies.

Emergency Dispatch Centers: We offer a dispatch center that serves the region, providing training and jobs for Mississippians who become the first link in the emergency-care chain.
Event Medical Services: Event medical standbys are one of AMR Central Mississippi’s most significant and widely utilized service lines. Across a broad range of community events—such as sporting activities, concerts, festivals and public gatherings—AMR Central Mississippi provides professional and dependable medical coverage to help ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees and participants.
Air Medical Integration: AMR offers air medical services in surrounding counties and throughout the state. We also offer an air-medical membership program in Mississippi.
EMS Memberships: AMR offers ground medical memberships starting at less than $100 per year for a household. These save citizens thousands of dollars if their insurance denies coverage or if they are uninsured. Additionally, air ambulances are a critical component of local EMS —especially in rural areas with no access to Level-I care. Through GMR's AirMedCare Network, air-medical memberships are available for just $99 per year and cover the entire household.
