AMR in the South Mississippi Community

Since 1974, AMR has proudly served the Mississippi coastal counties for more than 40 years, operating under one of the strictest performance-based contracts in the region. AMR employs nearly 300 South Mississippians who work and respond to over 30,000 patients in need every year throughout Harrison and Hancock Counties. AMR South Mississippi is nationally accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Ambulance Services, is permitted in good standing by the Mississippi Department of Health and EMS office and operates one of the largest community training and outreach centers in the region for the American Heart Association.

CAAS imageAMR South Mississippi has been nationally accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Ambulance Services since the 1990s, and is proud to be only one of two accredited operations in the state. We also are permitted in good standing by the Mississippi Department of Health and EMS office, and operate one of the largest community training and outreach centers in the region for the American Heart Association.

AMR's program, Earn While You Learn (EWYL), offers residents the unique opportunity to earn a paycheck while attending class to become a certified Emergency Medical Tecnician (EMT). If you are interested in the EWYL program, please contact the operation for more information or sign up online.
